The Hopkins River fished the toughest it has ever fished in the 17 year history of the Vic Bream Classic Series. With thousands of fish schooled up right through out the system with lock jaw it was a very frustrating tournament for most anglers. For Team Samurai Rods Dan Mackrell and Declan Betts the decision to head all the way up river and keep persevering with their plan finally paid off when on day 2 the fish finally turned it on and they came from well behind to win with 7/10 fish for 6.00kg . In 2nd place was Team MPW Peter and Harry Marshall with 6/10 bream weighing 5.05 and in 3rd place Team Fishin.com.au Stuart Curruthers and Shane Handley with 4/10 Bream weighing 3.42kg
The Sunline Best Bag went to Team Samurai Rods Dan Mackrell and Declan Betts with a cracking bag of 5/5 bream for 4.83kg.
The JML Anglers Alliance Big Bream went to Team Samurai Rods Dan Mackrell and Declan Betts who weighed in a quality bream weighing 1.41kg
The Hurricane Monster Movers Prize went to Team Richardson Marine Tackle Shacks Corey McLaren and Adam Brown who weighed in a quality bag on Day 2 of 4/5 bream bag weighing 2.62kg
